In the beginning Günther's work was very naturalistic, but after a while being a trainee with the painter Kai Trier, he was influenced by his style. The paintings got a different character. It was quite constructive for a period, but after a while it became more imaginative and dreamy.

It is difficult to categorize Günther's work. He has always been very curious and is always experimenting with new techniques and ways to express himself.

The palette which Günther is using has been characterized by the blue colours, warm and cold.

Günther has always been experimenting with colours. His work with complementary colours was shown at the Phänomenta exhibition in Ellensburg. After this very abstract period people appeared in his paintings. Anonymous people as symbolic and compositional elements.

His home is always open to anyone who might be interested in his work.
